However, the good news is that with the next-gen MacBook Pro, Apple could fix that issue. A report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that with the next-gen MacBook Pro, Apple is said to not only introduce a brand new design to the laptop, but will also bring back certain ports like the SD card slot. Ever since Apple introduced USB-C and Thunderbolt ports to its MacBook laptops, they did so at the expense of other ports. As much as many had hoped to see the market flooded with USB-C devices, it isn’t necessarily that case even today, and many users are still having to use dongles and docks.
They will also be introducing a HDMI port which is great news for users who own monitors that don’t necessarily have a USB-C/Thunderbolt connection. Ideally we’d love to see maybe USB-A ports for legacy devices, but we suppose having HDMI and the SD card slot back would be a decent compromise.
